Shards of Laughter | רסיסי צחוק

In this intimate performance, Gabriella Lev, Artistic Director of Theatre Company Jerusalem, brings to life stories from her family’s journey from Munkács to Auschwitz and Israel. She weaves memory, loss, resilience and unexpected humor into a theatrical work, embodying voices across generations and revealing the inner worlds of women who survived, remembered and rebuilt. Shtetl characters and voices from the past are interwoven with video and music, allowing memory and humor to coexist. The performance is presented in English.

Audience responses describe Lev’s performance as combining humor and deep pathos, and as a moving and powerful encounter with the Shoah. The production is jointly produced by Theology and Theatre and Theatre Company Jerusalem. Performer: Gabriella Lev. Directorial assistance: Yael Valier. Stage management: Osnat Alexa Solase. Video and sound: Yonatan Friedman.
