תיאור האירוע
Located where the Yarkon and Ayalon rivers meet, the Rosh Tsipor Birdwatching Center is a restored wetland in the heart of Gush Dan. It provides a permanent habitat for local wildlife and a resting place for migratory birds traveling along the Syrian-African Rift Valley, as well as a quiet setting for observing urban nature.
The introductory tour covers practical birdwatching skills while exploring the park’s different environments. Along the trails, participants learn to focus and track movement with binoculars and look for songbirds in the tree canopy. They also learn to recognize local species and hear about their diets, calls, and adaptations to urban life.
Observation continues from wooden hides, where wetland birds can be watched at close range without disturbing them. Participants practice identifying birds such as kingfishers and herons by their shapes and behavior, and by observing how they interact with open water and reeds. The tour provides an introduction to the local environment and foundational skills for recognizing birds in the neighborhood.
