Noches de Espanya is a musical production filled with longing, mutual support, and a vibrant Spanish celebration. The performance features 18 artists on stage, including actors, dancers, seven musicians, and four singers, with a cast including Uri Banai, Gil Kapitan, Nati Ravitz, Elinor Aharon, and Sophie Tzedaka, accompanied by the Aqua Oriental ensemble. The plot is based on the unique story of Grandma Louise and Grandpa Sassi, British subjects who immigrated from Tunisia to Safed and lived there for the rest of their lives. The story follows two families on their fascinating journey to Israel, who meet by chance and share a common dream: to live together on Mount Canaan in Safed. Their journey is filled with adventures, dangers, romance, and dreams. The drama focuses on the dilemmas faced by Louise and Sassi. They smuggle their eldest son, Meir, into Palestine to avoid his conscription into the British Army, but the longing for him is intense. Meanwhile, their younger son, Haim, who lives with them in Marseille, is heartbroken, missing his beloved Sarah, who remains in Tunisia with her parents. The parents face a difficult decision: stay in Marseille and enjoy a comfortable life of wealth and trade, or immigrate to Israel to reunite with their eldest son, while grappling with the pain of their younger son. Furthermore, they are committed to their secret work for the Rescue Committee, the precursor to the Israeli Mossad, as part of a clandestine network of agents on special missions. The production offers a rich stage experience, blending Ladino, Maghrebi singing, Spanish music, and classic Israeli songs with an Andalusian flair. It is a journey across continents, memories, and emotions. The duration of the performance is 100 minutes.
